When setting a budget for building a home there are many things to consider. The main one is that it’s always a good idea to have an extra 10% to 15% of the total budget put away for emergencies. Another is that a house will cost more to build if it is a complex shape or has many different roof peaks. Even though a larger house will have a higher total cost it will typically have a lower per-square-foot cost than a smaller home.
